1. Q: Do you believe in Prophet Moses?

A: Yes, we believe Prophet Moses was a messenger of God. He was a descendant of Prophet Abraham's younger son, Isaac and Jacob. Prophet Muhammad was a descendant of Prophet Abraham's older son, Ismael. Therefore, Muslims, Jews and Christians are theologically cousins.

 

2. Q: Do you believe in Jesus being the son of God?

A: No, we believe Jesus was the son of Mary, a Prophet of God. We believe in the immaculate conception and we love Jesus as a Prophet. God created Jesus without a father and created Adam without a father and mother.

 

3. Q: Do you believe in original sin?

A: No. We believe all human beings are born pure and innocent. During their lifetime, they either stay good or become evil.

 

4. Q: Do you believe that Jesus died on a cross and his blood washed our sins?

A: No. We believe Jesus was taken up to heaven by God. In this life, we are responsible for our own actions. If we do good, we go to heaven and if we do bad, we go to hell. Everyone is responsible for his own actions.

5. Q: Who goes to heaven according to Islam?

A: Anyone who does good things in this life, after death, may go to Heaven with God's mercy. This applies to Jews, Christians or Muslims.

 

6. Q: Do you have to be a Muslim to go to heaven?

A: No. You have to be good and obey God's commands, then with God's mercy, you go to Heaven.

 

7. Q: Does Islam support terrorism?

A: No. Islam is a religion of peace. Some Muslims, when they become desperate, they do desperate things. The same goes for some Christians and some Jews.

A: Jihad is a struggle in the path of God. The struggle starts with keeping yourself on the straight path and avoiding sin, and it ends in giving up your life to the cause of God.

 

9. Q: Do women have equal rights in Islam?

A: Yes. Women have equal rights in Islam according to the Quran, but in some countries, local culture may be discriminatory. That is not Islamic, but cultural.

 

10. Q: What are some of Haram (unlawful) things in Islam?

A: Eating pork, smoking, drinking alcohol, dating, sex outside of marriage, abortion, gambling, drug abuse, homosexuality, suicide and homicide are Haram. Islam follows pro-traditional family values.
